hoping for
a single worm
notes: all about the rise and fall of the syllables, well, at least to me, one of those I call “haiku-feel”, you know, not haiku in the strict sense, sometimes simple is simple…. seems reasonable, at least to this mind…
You wrote a beautifully introspective poem, David! It does feel like a haiku, indeed. I would call it “an illusory haiku”!

I agree! Haiku is a wonderfully condensed poem, centring around a vivid symbol, and you’ve captured this feeling beautifully! It’s always inspiring to see how authors challenge conventions. 😉
